what is our mission & vision?
We believe that you can heal, grow and find freedom for your soul and your relationships.
We know how hard it can be to find help that…
✢ goes deep enough ✢
✢ gets to the underlying pain ✢
✢ is a safe place to integrate your spiritual journey ✢
We’ve been there, and we know that these 3 elements
help unlock healing and transformation.
That’s the mission of SRP…
to provide depth-oriented, trauma-focused, and spiritually integrative therapy, and to train developing therapists to do the same.
Whether it’s for you individually, as a couple, for your child, family or a loved one, we want you to experience transformation in the innermost parts of your soul and in your most important relationships.
Our Vision
We want individuals, couples and families to experience transformation, freedom and joy in the innermost parts of their souls so that they have healthy, dynamic relationships and the creativity to make their unique contribution in the world. It’s how we’re changing the world, one person, one couple, one family at a time.
Our Values
Deep & Compassionate Listening
The therapy journey of listening and learning invites a shift from judgment and frustration with yourself and others, to curiosity and empathy. We cultivate compassion and kindness because they create the best atmosphere to listen, learn and change. We listen to thoughts, emotions, the body, the past, and the present. We listen for what is consciously and unconsciously fueling struggles. As we do so, we connect the dots, helping you understand what you really need and how to care for yourself amid those unmet needs.
Collaboration & Relationships
Having supportive relationships make most difficulties bearable. No matter what you struggle with, part of therapy is spent developing stronger connections, with self and others. Chances are, many of your present struggles relate to current or past difficulties in relationships. Exploring these in detail is a collaborative process that is central to therapy. We also value the therapeutic relationship as a context where you can be seen and known. In this context you can learn to connect more deeply, ask for what you need, and give feedback. Together, we will explore current changes you can make to navigate relationship challenges and create more of what you want.
Nuanced Spiritual Integration
We understand how powerful spirituality is. If it is important to you, we want to support your spiritual growth and development, whatever that means to you. We get how helpful it can be to find a therapist who shares your faith and worldview, and can incorporate it in the growth process. And, even though our Christian faith is important in our own lives, we do not want to make anyone’s faith or spirituality look like ours. SRP therapists have experience and training in spiritual integration, as well as in understanding faith deconstruction and healing religious trauma. We help our clients become healthier versions of themselves, incorporating faith or spirituality as they desire, or not.
Cultural Sensitivity & Community
Your story is embedded in numerous cultural contexts and communities. These may include present and past socio-economic, geographic, ethnic, racial, religious, and other cultures and communities. We want to explore the strengths and burdens of your experiences, and how they impact your identity, struggles and relationships. In addition, we believe that your relational, mental, physical and spiritual health are best supported by personal involvement in a variety of communities.
Dynamic Training & Lower Fee Therapy
We foster a supportive learning community for both pre-licensed therapists as well as our licensed therapists. Our training program emphasizes a flexible psychodynamic approach to therapy. Training new therapists also helps our organization stay abreast of the academic developments in our field. As a 501c3 we are able to have a training program that creates opportunities for lower fee therapy.
Our Origin Story
In the early 2000’s, Don Diva and I (Catherine Morrill) led a conference that created space for healing through dynamic experiential learning, teaching and worship.
We named it the “Soul Restoration Project.” A couple of years later and a couple of Soul Restoration Project conferences later, it made sense to form an organization that would bring together the various facets of the healing work we were doing. The name stuck. “Soul Restoration Project” embodies our values – spiritual integration (Soul), depth-oriented restoration (Restoration), and a commitment to a creative and healthy vocational focus (Project).
The Soul Restoration Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides psychotherapy, healing resources, and training. SRP is governed by a Board of Directors.
