About
Picture with me for a moment that your life is like a sailboat. Many of us have had hopes of where we would sail, how it would feel to get there, and who would be sailing alongside us. Over time weights get added to the boat. Perhaps you’re struggling with chronic illness and the journey becomes more difficult. Maybe at times, you’ve been on the same course as family or friends, but stepping into parts of who you are or what you believe means there is more distance between you in the water. Maybe unique things about you, like having ADD/ADHD, make it a little more challenging to stay on the course you desire. Or perhaps you’re struggling with the confidence to set out on a new path. I understand what it feels like to be sitting out in the water with things in my boat that I never imagined would be there. It is part of what drew me to becoming a therapist and I deeply believe that things can get better.
Therapy with me looks like talking about what life was like when you were little, what it feels like to be you now, and your hopes for the future. Through my training and experience, I listen for common threads and work with you to understand your story more deeply and help incorporate tools for navigating life.
People who work with me say that I am warm and make them feel comfortable to be themselves. Working with me does not look like an overnight change, but it does look like having a companion who genuinely cares and steps into the boat with you.
What I Do in My Free Time
Alongside counseling, I love writing and producing music. I am also a chronic rewatch-er and love sitting with a comfort show and a snack.
